Duties
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Central New Jersey office - Princeton, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural design, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with steel fabricators and detailers to design steel connections; strong proficiency with the AISC Manual is required
- Perform site visits to survey existing structures and evaluate loading conditions for solar panel installations
- Design structures for applicable loads including dead, live, wind, and seismic in accordance with ASCE 7
- Develop structural models, apply loads, and analyze performance using software such as RAM Elements and RAM Structural System
- Design structural components (steel, wood, masonry, cold-formed steel, and concrete) including beams, columns, and other elements
- Prepare detailed structural calculation packages and supporting documentation
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients via email, reports, and meetings
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or progress toward licensure)
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles, building codes, and standards
- Proficiency with industry software such as Outlook, Bluebeam, RAM Elements, Enercalc, and similar tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently - fast/self learner and collaboratively within a team environment
- High attention to detail with strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
- Valid driver’s license required
- Willingness to travel to job sites, including occasional overnight stays (approximately 25% travel)
