Essential Job Functions:
- Troubleshoot high-level technical and non-technical issues
- Coordinates system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing
- Contributes to completion of specific engineering programs and projects
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems
- Perform complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
- Oversees complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Performs complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
- Performs continual maintenance and provides complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
- Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
- Assist senior engineers and field service engineering staff
- Create and maintain system architecture and troubleshooting documentation
- Monitor, analyze, & report information on system performance; identify inefficiencies, issues, and bottlenecks
- Prepare plans and assessments, such as management engineering plans, integrated support plans, meeting presentations and implementation plans
- Develop integrated system requirements and proposed design solutions
- Research and documents analysis in technical reports and presents findings and recommendations to meet program requirements
- Anticipate and addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance problems
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (in computer science, engineering, or mathematics) 10 yrs. related experience
Essential Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with performing engineering and/or scientific research, studies, and analyses of specified technological, scientific, programmatic, and operational issues
- Advanced Linux experience
- Experience utilizing systems engineering and work management tools such as Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills to interact with team members and customers
- Ability to travel when needed
