Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality patient care
- Guide and support patients through prescribed exercise programs, providing proper cueing and encouragement
- Apply therapeutic modalities under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Communicate patient progress, concerns, and feedback to the therapy team
- Assist with managing daily schedules, including patient check-ins, scheduling, and reminder calls
- Support clinic goals by helping maintain a cancellation rate below 10%
- Ensure patients are scheduled for follow-up visits prior to leaving the clinic
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment throughout the day
- Assist with patient flow, including directing, transferring, and transporting patients as needed
- Monitor equipment and communicate inventory or maintenance needs to leadership
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and compliance standards
- Utilize practice management and clinic software systems effectively after training
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a health-related field preferred but not necessary
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in occupational therapy, physical therapy, or a related healthcare field
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise techniques
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn new systems
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold MPOWER’s standards of care
