Armed Security Officer - Access control & Reception

Job Summary:

MPI K9 is seeking a professional, dependable, and personable Armed Gatehouse Security Officer to join our team in Southern Wisconsin.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, staying organized, and maintaining a professional presence. While this is an armed security position, the majority of your shift will involve monitoring facility access, greeting employees and visitors, assisting with questions, completing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth daily operations.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, has strong computer skills, communicates professionally, and remains calm and confident if an incident requires security intervention.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Monitor access to the facility and verify credentials.
• Answer questions and provide directions or assistance as needed.
• Monitor security cameras and building activity.
• Complete reports, visitor logs, and daily documentation using a computer.
• Respond appropriately to security concerns, emergencies, or unusual situations.
• Conduct occasional patrols of the property.
• Communicate effectively with site management and MPI K9 leadership.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent MPI K9 with integrity.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Firearm Training
• Previous security, customer service, reception, concierge, administrative, military, or law enforcement experience is preferred.
• Must be able to stand/walk/sit for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a sense of professionalism
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
