Job description
Paris Energy Center is a 242 MW 2x1 combined cycle natural gas power plant located in Paris, Texas. The site is comprised of two GE 7EA gas turbines and a single GE steam turbine. The Plant Manager is responsible for directing all Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities at the facility. The Plant Manager leads the O&M staff to assure an adequate supply of manpower, tools, equipment, and external support is available to provide for the safe and efficient 24/7 operation of the facility. The Plant Manager assures that the facility is operated in compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and other regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Key decision maker and leader in the strategic planning and implementation of overall initiatives in operations and maintenance of the Facility, including P&L, staffing and long-range planning.
- Responsible for developing/implementing safety procedures and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained.
- Actively manage the day-to-day operations of the Facility with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, and cost management.
- Oversee development, implementation, and updates to all plant procedures, site policies, training, and work practices.
- Provide regular updates, reports, and performance statistics to asset management, business partners and others as directed.
- Oversee the preparation of required periodic reports, budgets, environmental compliance reports, and other documentation to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
- Monitor plant performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Responsible for selecting, training, supervising, and developing management staff and O&M personnel.
- Overall responsibility for managing, planning, and executing maintenance outages and plant modifications/improvements.
- Ensure all plant activities are performed in compliance with company policy, state and federal regulations and accepted industry standards.
- Responsible for O&M budget development, tracking and reporting.
- Willing to accept accountability for decisions, performance, and behavior as well as the performance of assigned staff
- Potential to travel for company business which may include travel by private automobile and commercial airlines.
- May be required to perform other duties as directed
Requirements: Qualifications and Skills
- BS Degree in Engineering/Business/or related field. Experience can be substituted in lieu of education
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience in the power generation industry with direct operational experience in power generation
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising technical, supervisory and administrative personnel. Strong leadership and motivational skills are preferred.
- Must have proven record of compliance: safety, environmental, NERC
- Experience inside ERCOT is preferred
- Proficient in effectively leading individuals and teams
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities with detailed understanding of electrical generation power plants, including startup, operations and maintenance of equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills in Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
Company Description
MPH Mesquite Power, LLC consists of Bastrop Energy Center and Paris Energy Center power plants. These facilities are in Bastrop and Paris, Texas, and provide 855 megawatts of critical power generation and reliability services to the Texas grid.
Pay: $165,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
