Business Manager / Bookkeeper
Supporting the Owner of a Construction Company
Full-Time | Competitive Compensation Based on Experience
An established construction company owner is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and experienced professional to oversee the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of both the business and the owner's personal affairs.
This is a key position requiring professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process payroll accurately and timely
- Maintain bookkeeping records using QuickBooks
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Coordinate insurance policies, renewals, certificates, and claims
- Work directly with outside accountants, attorneys, banks, and insurance professionals
- Assist with budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting
- Maintain organized financial records and office files
- Manage business licensing, registrations, and administrative compliance
- Assist with the owner's personal financial and administrative matters
- Coordinate vendors, office operations, and special projects
- Handle correspondence, scheduling, and other executive support functions as needed
- Billing and Data input
- DOT and DEC Compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping, accounting, business management, or office management experience
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and account reconciliations
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Construction
- Family office or privately owned business
- Small business financial management
