MP Systems is hiring an Estimator for the East Troy, WI office. This position will estimate all types of utility, infrastructure, and electrical work. The position will maintain close relations with departments regarding services and estimates.

- Review proposal specifications, drawings, customer standards, unit billing standards, and attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Prepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work.
- Prepare breakdown of estimate. Provide estimate information to Project Manager.
- Estimate types include unit price, lump sum, T&E.
- Build and/ or update compatible unit values.
- Build or upload estimates in estimating/ project management software following work break down structure process.
- Obtain general foreman/ management feedback from project drive thru so additional factors can be considered on the baseline estimate.
- Work with accounting and management for updating customer T&E rates; Read and understand union labor agreements for developing the labor rates.
- Improve and update computer-estimating system. Maintain estimating system prices, labor, etc.
- Submit bids and proposals on projects estimated after approval.
- Introduce cost saving ideas through redesign (Value Engineering opportunities).
- High School education required.
- 2 year technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Estimating experienced preferred but not required.
- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable.
- Ability to think conceptually and apply practical solutions. Capabilities to self-start, and display solid work ethic. Talent to act decisively and assertively through positive communication with others.
- High attention to detail and following procedures.
- Basic electrical, mechanical, civil, environmental and construction knowledge.
- Ability to read utility drawings. electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings and project documents.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, & basic navigation of Access or similar project management software.
- Knowledge of standard safety procedures
