Position Overview
MP NexLevel is seeking experienced Fiber Splicers to support large-scale data center and telecommunications infrastructure projects throughout the United States. This role is responsible for fiber splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation in mission-critical environments. Candidates must be comfortable traveling extensively and working on fast-paced construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform fusion splicing of single-mode, multimode, ribbon, and loose-tube fiber optic cable.
- Conduct OTDR, power meter, and fiber certification testing.
- Troubleshoot fiber loss, connectivity issues, and network outages.
- Read and interpret splice diagrams, fiber matrices, and construction drawings.
- Complete splice reports, test results, as-builts, and project documentation.
- Install, route, terminate, label, and organize fiber optic cabling.
- Support rack-and-stack activities and structured cabling installations when needed.
- Maintain high quality standards and follow all site safety requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to meet construction schedules and customer expectations.
- Travel nationwide to support active projects.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of fiber optic splicing experience.
- Experience with fusion splicing and fiber troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform and interpret OTDR testing.
- Experience with single-mode and multimode fiber.
- Ability to read splice diagrams and construction drawings.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data center experience.
- Ribbon fiber and mass fusion splicing experience.
- Experience with Fujikura or Sumitomo splicers.
- Experience using EXFO, VIAVI, or similar testing equipment.
- FTTH, ISP, OSP, backbone, or hyperscale data center project experience.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, BICSI, or ETA Fiber certifications.
