The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance team while ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facility systems. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring active participation in troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
This position is expected to lead from the floor and work alongside the maintenance team when production demands require immediate response to equipment issues and unplanned downtime.
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee 5–7 maintenance technicians across four rotating shifts and work closely with the Plant Manager and Equipment Specialist to drive preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Direct daily maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation of plant equipment.
- Provide hands-on support during equipment failures, unplanned downtime, and critical maintenance activities.
- Identify skill gaps within the maintenance team and implement training and development plans.
- Partner with Production and Plant Leadership to prioritize maintenance work and minimize downtime.
- Ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed effectively and on schedule.
- Coordinate maintenance support for planned shutdowns, equipment upgrades, and improvement projects.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and maintenance excellence.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilize CMMS/work order systems to track activities and performance.
- Participate in on-call support as required for plant emergencies.
Requirements
- 5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience.
- 3 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience leading maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CMMS/work order management systems preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Salary : $40 - $50
