Primary Function (why does the role exists?):
The Business Development Manager drives sales growth for the North American region and enrich the customer experience by maintaining long-lasting relationships with the clients and develop new accounts.
Job Description:
- Responsible for meeting sales goals for assigned territories and/or industries.
- Create strategic sales plan with Director of Sales on an annual basis and review status at the end of each quarter.
- Coordinate sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes for assigned territory and/or industry.
- Create sales promotion ideas and implement with marketing.
- Proactively identify opportunities for sales process improvement.
- Achievement of strategic sales service objectives defined by company management.
- Strategic selling.
- Prospect for new customers, as well as manage accounts within assigned territory.
- Determine who and how to target an individual from companies prospected.
- Engage individual prospects.
- Develop relationships.
- Articulate the value of MP Bio.
- Find opportunities for us to quote.
- Negotiate opportunities.
- Win opportunities and manage the new customer onboarding process.
- Daily management of accounts closed - Total account management.
- Upsell of accounts won.
- Coordinate and have technical communications.
- Networking.
- Find creative solutions.
- Issue management and resolution.
- Administrative duties to update and maintain Zoho CRM system for all customer activities.
- Communicate customer activities to Director of Sales.
- Travel to customer facilities – up to 50% travel.
- Develop strategic actions/objectives to accomplish goals.
- Manage a booth at tradeshows and/or conferences.
- Present topics relevant to MP Bio customers at tradeshows and/or conferences.
- Be proactive.
- Cross-sell all MP Bio product offerings.
- Compile competitive analysis for assigned business segment and/or territory.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of trends, regulatory/quality changes, market fluctuations, etc. for assigned business segment and/or territory.
- Meet or exceed sales metrics.
- Other duties as assigned or evolve.
Education and Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in life science sales.
- Experience with successful sales growth and account management.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with sales processes.
- Experience developing a book of business.
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
- Experience selling to regulated industries.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent command of Excel and PowerPoint
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Excellent telephone sales personality skills.
- Prominent organization and presentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
Work Environment:
- Office based remote position.
- Ability to work on computer at a sitting desk.
- This position will require a working laptop, equipped with, Microsoft office and other programs necessary to fulfill the duties of the position.
- Ability to travel 50% of time, both domestically and internationally.
- Ability to lift light weight and to assist in setting up tradeshow booth.
