Responsibilities
- Develop & deliver structured, engaging lessons in reading, writing, and math aligned with student needs and grade-level expectations
- Provide group instruction (able to manage a group of 8-10 students)
- Assess student skill levels and track progress over time in order to develop and implement targeted strategies to strengthen foundational skills and close learning gaps
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavioral management techniques, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Assess student progress regularly through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational data; provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Mentor students in social-emotional skills, communication, and life skills while promoting their overall well-being and child welfare.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of foundational literacy and math instruction
- Ability to break down concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior proactively while maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.

Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree)
- Prior experience working with elementary and/or middle school students (tutoring, teaching, or learning centers)
- Familiarity with SHSAT & related academic topics
- Teaching certification or classroom experience
