ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly organized, client-focused Lead Move Manager to oversee complex residential and commercial relocations across the greater Washington, DC area. In this dual-function role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients while managing all operational, logistical, and personnel aspects of every move from initial consultation through final placement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan, coordinate, and execute residential and commercial moves from start to finish
• Serve as the lead point of contact for clients throughout the entire move process
• Develop and maintain detailed move schedules, timelines, and budgets
• Supervise and direct move crews, subcontractors, and vendors on-site
• Conduct pre-move surveys and post-move walkthroughs with clients
• Manage inventory, packing logistics, and special-handling items
• Coordinate with building management, move-in coordinators in DC, MD, and VA
• Resolve issues and escalations quickly and professionally
• Maintain accurate documentation and client records
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 1-2 years of experience in move management, relocation coordination, or a related field
• Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent moves
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership ability with experience managing crews or teams
• Proficiency with move management software and scheduling tools
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work 3 consecutive days per week or more
• Physical ability to work in active move environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with high-value or specialty item handling (art, antiques, electronics)
• Familiarity with DC
• Bilingual skills are a plus
