Moxie People Solutions is assisting the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives (IAEC) in seeking a dedicated administrative professional to fill their full-time Office & Student Programs Coordinator position.
This position is ideal for someone eager to grow within the role and take on increasing responsibilities over time. The IAEC is looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about learning, developing new skills, and contributing to the success of the Association and its members.
Applicants must be able to attend the Iowa Youth Tour annually (this year’s dates: June 14-20, 2026) and participate as a chaperone and coordinate the tour each year.
Since the timing of the hiring process for this position is only a few months removed from the 2026 Iowa Youth Tour dates, the IAEC understands that some candidates may be unable to attend the tour this year due to prior commitments. Anyone interested in the position should not hesitate to apply if this is the case. Coordinating and chaperoning the Iowa Youth Tour is one of the most rewarding aspects of this position.

Key responsibilities:
Student Programs duties include, but are not limited to:
- Working with the Director of Administration & Student Programs to promote, manage, plan, and execute the Iowa Youth Tour program and the Iowa Youth Leadership Academy.
- Participating in national meetings related to the Iowa Youth Tour.
General office, accounting, and administrative duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting and directing visitors
- Answering phones and directing calls
- Coordinating meetings held at the IAEC office (schedule, meals, room set-up, etc.)
- Processing mail
- Maintaining office supplies and serving as the primary contact for office vendors
- Depositing checks
- Scanning, distributing, and processing invoices
- Preparing reports
- Coordinating maintenance of pool vehicles
Key Qualifications:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; must be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to anticipate needs and respond to situations with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Comfortable interacting with student delegates, parents, members, the public, and vendors both in person and over the phone in a courteous and articulate manner.
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative and reliability.
Education/experience requirements:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general business and accounting principles, typically acquired through completion of secondary education and at least one year of post-secondary coursework, or equivalent education and experience.
Applicants must be able to:
- Coordinate and chaperone the Iowa Youth Tour annually
- Work extended hours during Association meetings, the Iowa Youth Leadership Academy and Iowa Youth Tour, including long days with a flexible schedule to accommodate program needs.
- Move, lift, load or unload items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Give close mental and visual attention or concentration, sometimes for extended periods.
- Conduct repetitive and varied tasks.
- Sit, stand, reach, speak, and travel, sometimes for extended periods, and walk upwards of 10 miles a day during Youth Tour.
- Understand that it’s primarily a normal office environment.
- Travel, sometimes overnight for several days.
This position reports to the Director of Administration & Student Programs and is in-person and based out of IAEC’s Urbandale office.
