What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Technician position at Mowery Clinic?
Seeking a full-time Medical Lab Technician to perform a full range of laboratory tests in a clinic laboratory setting. Qualified applicants will possess the skills and ability to work as a generalist in the laboratory to include the following areas: chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. Must have the skills and knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing instruments to perform control checks and troubleshoot instrumentation. Must be a dependable team player with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, medical staff and the public. Qualified individuals must maintain a high level of accuracy. Requires initiative and ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1-2 years of experience working as a Medical Lab Technician – MLT / MLS preferred
- Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred
- Analytical and numerical skills – the ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurements; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios required.
