Mowery clinic is seeking an experienced and motivated Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain the general operations of the laboratory to ensure high-quality testing, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. This role supervises laboratory personnel, manages workflow, oversees quality control processes and ensures the laboratory meets all accreditation and safety standards.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring accurate and appropriate completion of all laboratory tests
- Managing lab inventory, supplies and equipment maintenance
- Ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping standards are met
- Supervising the processing, billing and charging of all laboratory tests
- Collaborating with physicians and administration to support patient care
- Assist with cost control measures
- Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment
Qualified applicants will possess thorough knowledge of laboratory standards and accreditation requirements and ability to perform a full range of laboratory tests in the following areas: chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. Must have strong organizational, communication and leadership skills with the ability to anticipate and respond calmly to situations and build and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Must be able to problem solve, multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Qualified individuals must maintain a high level of professionalism and accuracy. Requires initiative and ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience working as a Medical Lab Technician - MLT / MLS preferred
