Job Summary
The Mower County Mounted Posse is seeking dependable and community-focused individuals to serve as contracted Mounted Posse Members. This role supports public safety efforts at community events and provides visible security presence during events both on foot and horseback (when applicable).
Duties
- Assist local law enforcement officers during community events, annual county fair, and during events by providing mounted or ground support and crowd control
- Engage with community members
- Participate in training sessions to maintain health and safety standards, and emergency response procedures
Experience
- Strong public speaking abilities for engaging diverse audiences effectively
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age
- Valid Identification required
- Comfortable working around horses/animals and in public/crowded environments
- Reliable transportation to meetings and event sites
- Strong communication skills and good judgment under stress
- Willingness to complete Posse-required orientation and training
- Ability to commit to regular meetings/training and event schedules
- Willingness to learn
Compensation
- Contract-based pay

- Varies based on events and operational needs (including evenings, weekends and some holidays
