What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Support Specialist position at Moving Forward Mentoring LLC?
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to:
Implement academic, social language, and behavioral programming.
Assist clients/individuals with appropriate anger management and coping skills.
Provide modeling and coaching as support and guidance to all clients/individuals.
Engage in honest and respectful communication, cooperative work effort, contribute to a harmonious working environment, and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, management, individuals, outside agencies, and others with whom employees may come in contact.
Empower and engage clients/individuals to a high potential.
Teach social and daily living skills to all clients/individuals.
Attend and participate in required training and meetings
Assist clients/individuals in maintaining a safe and healthy lifestyle. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Facilitation of individual and group activities.
Maintain confidentiality concerning all verbal and written information.
Assist and support individuals in their recovery.
Mentor
Accurately, respectfully, and punctually complete any required documentation.
Responsible for completing ‘other related job duties’ as assigned by lead/supervisor.
Provide patient safety and the safety of the staff & facility.
Support changes in staffing/scheduling assignment when program and patient care needs are required.
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, may include but are not limited to:
Safely accompany clients/individuals to activities, personal appointments, and ensure reliable personal transportation is maintained. Following all state, and local motor vehicle laws.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with strategies related to managing and addressing behavioral concerns, preferred.
Strong verbal, written language, and interpersonal skills.
Basic familiarity with technology (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to respond professionally to all parental and/or staff questions or concerns.
Ability to adhere to timelines and to multi-task between tasks/projects.
Ability to adapt easily to change.
Education and Experience:
Completion of a bachelor’s degree in related field. Related fields include Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Child Development, Psychology, Special Education.
Additional Requirements:
Required to pass the WI BID and other background checks, upon hire.
Applicants must be 18 years or older
If responsible for driving while on work time, you must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and an insurable driving record.
Personal vehicle and personal liability insurance must always remain current and within policy limits as determined by Moving Forward Mentoring, LLC. Must pass DMV check, upon hire.
Prompt and regular attendance required
Must have good interpersonal skills and consistently demonstrate effective decision-making abilities
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Fluency in oral and written English
Basic computer skills including the ability to effectively use electronic documentation software and office/IS equipment
Job Type: Part-time, with potential to Full-time, Monday through Friday
Required travel: 25% (Required)
