Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Music/Recreation Specialist to inspire joy, creativity, and active engagement among diverse age groups. In this role, you will design and implement vibrant music and recreational programs that foster social interaction, physical activity, and artistic expression while keeping our campers of all abilities engaged. I am looking for a passionate individual who can work with small groups of children with different abilities during our Christmas camp. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive curricula that incorporate music, dance, arts, and other recreational activities tailored to various age groups and skill levels
- Manage classroom environments effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and ensuring safety during all activities
- Provide personalized tutoring and instruction to children and adults with diverse learning needs, including those in early childhood education or special education programs
- Plan and execute lesson plans that align with childhood development principles and educational standards
- Facilitate group activities that encourage teamwork, self-expression, and social skills development
- Maintain detailed records of participant progress and activity outcomes to support ongoing program improvement
Skills
- Strong background in curriculum development across arts, recreation, and educational disciplines
- Proven experience teaching children and adults in classroom or recreational settings
- Excellent classroom management skills to foster positive behavior and engagement
- Skilled in tutoring students with varying learning styles and needs
- Deep understanding of childhood development stages, early childhood education, preschool experience, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to adapt activities for individuals with special education requirements or unique learning challenges
- Experience working with children’s developmental milestones to create age-appropriate programming
- Passion for fostering a fun, inclusive environment that promotes physical activity through dance or movement-based recreation
