Resident Engagement Coordinator - AmeriCorps VISTA Project with Movin’ Out, Inc.
Position starts as soon as June 1.
Project Goal
You’ll expand capacity to support individuals with disabilities through increased resident engagement, program development, and community partnerships that promote stable housing and economic opportunity
Project Objectives
RESIDENT ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMMING: Increase resident engagement and access to supportive services through coordinated events.
With stakeholders (staff, volunteers, residents), assist in planning and coordinating resident events including holiday celebrations, educational workshops, and community-building activities across properties.
Establish and host rotating drop-in hours at Movin’ Out properties to assist residents with questions, service navigation, and resource connection.
Develop systems and materials to sustain ongoing resident engagement efforts, including event calendars and outreach strategies. Identify and train who will be responsible once the VISTA member’s term is complete.
MILWAUKEE PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Plan and implement a grant-funded initiative to support individuals with disabilities at a site in Milwaukee, focused on advancing education, expanding access to the arts, fostering leadership within marginalized communities, and enhancing the health of older adults. (Some travel will be required to visit the Milwaukee site.)
Collaborate with staff to design a program aligned with the above objectives, focusing on supporting individuals with disabilities.
Organize bi-monthly drop-in hours to gather feedback from residents on the services and programs they wish to see at the property and assist them to access resources. Based on feedback, plan and host a minimum of four events for all residents.
Collect and evaluate data on program activities to measure success/impact and ensure sustainability and long-term impact
ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY: Build organizational capacity through outreach, communications, and resource development.
Conduct grant research and support development efforts to identify new funding opportunities.
Working with staff, create and implement an outreach plan to increase awareness of Movin’ Out services, including community partnerships and resident communications.
Contribute to social media, marketing, and communication strategies to enhance organizational visibility and engagement
