What are the responsibilities and job description for the MOVES Cardiology - Veterinary Assistant position at MOVES Veterinary Cardiology?
OVERVIEW:
MOVES Mobile Veterinary Specialists Cardiology (Asheville) is a mobile specialty practice that serves the primary care veterinary clinics and pet owners of Asheville, Weaverville, Waynesville, Hendersonville, and upstate South Carolina.
SCHEDULE:
Monday-Wednesday ~7:30 am - ~4 pm (hours may vary slightly depending on location of first and last cases)
START DATE: 5/26/2026
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive between primary care veterinary clinics (car provided)
- Set up and break down cardiology equipment (table, ultrasound machine, ECG recorder, Doppler and/or oscillometric blood pressure monitor)
- Safely restrain small animals (primarily dogs and cats, occasionally exotics) for physical exam and diagnostic testing
- Communicate with MOVES referral partner coordinator regarding scheduling
- Manage text messages and voicemails received to mobile phone
- Other tasks as needed
REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques
- Strong communication skills
- A positive attitude
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Veterinary: 1 year (Preferred)
