The Youth Club Coach is a part of a team of coaches who are responsible for delivering practice content to our youth climbing clubs and crafting the experience for our introductory climbing course. Youth Club Coaches partner with Team Coach Supervisors to plan and execute programming that results in transformative experiences for youth athletes and teaches life skills through climbing. Geared toward new climbers, this is an opportunity for kids that are excited about climbing to practice with their peer group and build behaviors that will help them along their entire climbing journey. Whether that leads them to competition or simply to having fun with friends.

Job Description
The Youth Club Coach is a part of a team of coaches who are responsible for delivering practice content to our youth climbing clubs and crafting the experience for our introductory climbing course. Youth Club Coaches partner with Team Coach Supervisors to plan and execute programming that results in transformative experiences for youth athletes and teaches life skills through climbing. Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide a supervised and controlled environment to monitor physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and support transformative experiences for athletes while ensuring team activities promote our core values and a sense of belonging in team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients of all ages and abilities while demonstrating empathy and compassion.
- Work with Head Coach and Team Coach Supervisors to follow lesson plans and deliver the daily instruction for this level of team.
- Coach at practices of this level of team, and competitions as needed based on athlete attendance.
- Teach climbing skills from provided curriculums and create inclusive spaces that foster a sense of belonging.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers and supervisors about feedback and concerns.
- Speak open and honestly; asking for help when needed and look to learn from mistakes.
- Develop skills to effectively communicate with others and listen to other perspectives to build partnerships.
- Assist Team Coach Supervisor with administrative duties for this team level, including monitoring team rosters, organizing practice notes, and communicating with parents.
- Effectively communicate any issues or concerns with coaching staff and the management team in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Team Coach Supervisor to facilitate mentorship opportunities and personal development for their team level.
- Embody Movement Core Values and the desired culture of our youth team
- Passion for working with youth and developing youth climbing athletes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with athletes, coaches, parents, and gym leadership.
- Knowledge and experience in climbing instruction commensurate with the team level being coached
- This position is a Part Time (2-5 hours/week), non-exempt position and includes gym membership, gear discounts, guest passes, and other benefits available to Movement employees.
- Starting pay is $13 with room for flexibility depending on experience.
