Strategy Director: Discipline LeadPosition: Temp-to-permLocation: RemoteOVERVIEW Movement Strategy is seeking a Strategy Director to serve as the central strategic authority within a Pod. In this role, you lead strategic development across business, brand, social, content, and communications ensuring the Pod delivers high-performing, insight-driven work rooted in cultural fluency, data rigor, and platform-native thinking.You report directly into the Pod Lead, who oversees integrated delivery across Strategy, Creative, Content & Engagement, and Account. You also maintain a dotted-line relationship to the Group Director of Strategy, who supports your discipline growth and strategic leadership.As Strategy Director, you bring senior-level experience in building brand-level and social strategies, annual planning, comms planning, measurement frameworks, data analysis, and consumer insights. Support the Pod Lead in upholding the Pod's strategic vision and setting priorities.Inspire, align, and motivate cross-functional teams around a data-driven, insight-led strategy.Strengthen the Pod's ability to anticipate trends and proactively identify opportunities.Lead 0→1 social ecosystem builds for net-new brands or initiatives — defining social purpose, CTA, channels, and launch approach from scratch.Brand & Communications StrategyLead brand planning, positioning strategy, and long-term brand growth frameworks. Translate early-stage brand platforms or works-in-progress into clear, launch-ready social strategy.Develop comms strategies, messaging frameworks, consumer journeys, narrative architectures, and tactical briefs.Develop phased launch strategies, including platform roles, narrative arcs, and guardrails.Ensure all creative work is grounded in a clear strategic foundation with a single-minded point of view.Translate research, insights, and consumer behavior into actionable strategic direction.Data-Driven Insights & MeasurementProvide analytical rigor to every project, integrating social listening, platform analytics, research, and audience insights. Build KPI frameworks, measurement models, benchmarking approaches, and forecasting.Own recurring strategic reporting for the Pod — connecting performance to business and creative implications.Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into clear, accessible, client-ready insights.Trend Intelligence, Culture & Strategic AgilityStay deeply informed about digital culture, platform shifts, emerging tech, and category trends.Bring forward reactive, experimental, and future-facing opportunities for the Pod.Embrace rapid problem-solving, iteration, and test-and-learn strategic approaches.Push creative and content partners into new territories using insight-led inspiration.Creative Partnership & Cross-Functional IntegrationWork closely with Creative Directors, Copywriters, Art Directors, Designers, C&E, and Paid Media to ensure strategic alignment across concepts and deliverables.Provide rationale and strategic context in creative reviews and ideation sessions.Translate strategic work into inspiration that fuels creative development and storytelling.Partner with the Impact COE on cross-functional strategic frameworks that guide Pod operations.Client Leadership & Presentation ExcellenceBuild strong relationships with peer-level client stakeholders, bringing clarity, confidence, and strategic POVs. Present complex insights in compelling, accessible narratives.Provide steady, strategic guidance during fast-moving or high-pressure cycles.Lead annual planning, strategic roadmaps, and major presentations.Pod Strategy Operations & Ways of WorkingEnsure strategic outputs are connected to Pod processes, rituals, and workflows.Bring clarity and structure to ambiguous or complex strategic challenges.Collaborate with Project Management to support efficient workflow and strategic prioritization.Create clarity fast in ambiguous situations, synthesizing imperfect inputs into decisive strategic direction under tight timelines.New Business & Cross-Pod Strategic ReinforcementSupport new business pitches with insight development, strategic POVs, category/competitive research, deck building, and narrative structureJump into other Pods or business units when senior-level strategic support is needed for high-priority initiatives.Partner with Strategy leadership to align on strategic consistency and cross-Pod needs.QUALIFICATIONS 8–10 years in strategy (social, digital, brand, comms, or integrated) in an agency setting.Deep familiarity with social platforms, cultural trends, and performance metrics. Hands-on experience with social listening and analytics tools (Brandwatch, GWI, RivalIQ).Proven ability to build brand strategies, messaging frameworks, comms architectures, and consumer journeys.Strong ability to synthesize multiple inputs into clear, cohesive strategies.Experience presenting to senior-level clients (VP , Directors). The range listed is just one component of Movement Strategy's total compensation package for employees. Individual compensation varies based on location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, years of relevant experience, qualifications, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
