Director of Operations – Deep Drawn Metal Stamping
We have been asked by our client to hunting for a dynamic and strategically-minded Director of Operations to lead our clients deep drawn metal stamping manufacturing facilities. In this critical leadership role, you will drive operational excellence, develop forward-thinking strategies, and ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety across all manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute long-term operational strategies that align with company goals and promote sustainable growth in the deep drawn metal stamping sector. This includes analyzing market trends and competitor strategies to identify opportunities for expansion and innovation.
- Provide overall leadership and management of manufacturing operations, including production planning, quality control, supply chain management, tooling strategy, and workforce development. Ensure efficient utilization of resources and materials to consistently meet or exceed production targets.
- Establish, monitor, and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, product quality, yield rates, and cost performance. Leverage advanced data analytics to make informed, data-driven decisions that continuously improve operational performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing practices, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process optimization tools to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Champion safety as a core value by ensuring full compliance with all industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols. Conduct regular safety audits, implement proactive risk mitigation measures, and foster a strong culture of safety and accountability across the organization.
- Oversee tooling design, development, maintenance, and optimization programs to support efficient production, reduce downtime, and improve part quality and repeatability.
- Mentor, coach, and empower the manufacturing leadership team and employees by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, training, and autonomy to take ownership of their departments and drive results. Develop and implement leadership development programs to support career growth and build a high-performing, engaged workforce.
- Prepare and manage operational budgets, effectively allocating resources to maximize productivity while controlling costs. Regularly review financial performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Deliver clear and impactful presentations to internal and external customers, senior leadership, and stakeholders. Effectively communicate operational performance, strategic initiatives, project updates, and technical solutions to build alignment and strengthen relationships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry partners. Collaborate on product development, negotiate favorable contracts, and drive innovation that supports operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field (Master’s degree highly preferred).
- 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with specific expertise in deep drawn metal stamping or a closely related precision metal forming environment.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, driving significant operational improvements, and successfully managing large-scale manufacturing projects.
- In-depth knowledge of deep drawn metal stamping processes, tooling technologies, quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949 or ISO), lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Work Environment:
This role is primarily based in an office setting with frequent time spent on the manufacturing floor to provide hands-on leadership and ensure strategic alignment. Occasional travel (10–20%) may be required for customer meetings, supplier visits, industry conferences, and internal collaboration.
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
