A growing manufacturing organization in the Madison WI area is seeking a Controls Engineer to support automation, equipment integration, and production system reliability. This role will focus heavily on Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC systems (ControlLogix / CompactLogix).
- Support automation equipment, robotics, and production lines to improve uptime and performance.
- Develop and maintain HMI and control system interfaces.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls issues on manufacturing equipment.
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to implement process improvements.
- Support new equipment launches, commissioning, and automation upgrades.
- Maintain documentation for PLC programs, electrical schematics, and control systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of controls engineering experience in manufacturing or automation environments.
- Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix / CompactLogix).
- Experience with HMI systems, automation troubleshooting, and industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, or motion control is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
