What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation & Controls Engineer position at Movement Search & Delivery?
We’re partnering with a global components manufacturer in Willoughby, OH that is expanding their automation capabilities and looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer to support and advance plant-wide automation initiatives.
In this role, you’ll develop and maintain automation systems that support real-time manufacturing operations. You’ll work directly with Process Engineering, Product Engineering, and Operations to enhance system performance, reduce manual work, and improve reliability across automated equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, test, and sustain automation infrastructure within production environments
- Program, integrate, and troubleshoot automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and supporting software
- Debug and refine control code to ensure stable and accurate equipment operation
- Create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing software or control systems
- Review automation code and assist teams in adopting new systems or updates
- Identify opportunities to optimize automation processes and implement improvements
- Support ongoing manufacturing activities as needed
Technical Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs (ladder logic)
- Hands-on experience with HMI/PC-based automation systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, and SQL for automation or data acquisition
- Experience with software testing, validation, and troubleshooting
Preferred Experience
- Fanuc robot programming and setup
Education
Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED
Note: U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required for DoD-related work.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
