What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Steward position at Moveable Feast?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kitchen Steward provides support to the food services department, ensuring food safety standards are upheld, and assists with maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency. Shift hours are 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
KITCHEN STEWARD
· Supports Receiving Manager and Kitchen Utility; assisting with washing dishes, and waste disposal
· Assists with inbound receiving & meal packaging as needed
· Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are maintained
· Ensure proper rotation using the First-In First-Out Method (FIFO).
· Provides directions to volunteers as assigned
· Supports kitchen operations as directed
Other Duties:
· Adheres to all Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, by protecting the privacy and security of all patient/client health information
· Participates in Moveable Feast’s events as required.
· Knowledge of and adherence to Moveable Feast’s Personnel Policies and Procedures
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· At least 2 years’ work experience in a large volume commercial or production kitchen
· Must be able to work on site during production hours
· Experience using compactor & cardboard baler

· Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
· Ability to work independently and with a team
· Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
