Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis, with options to expand to full-time as the clinic grows. The ideal candidate will assist in providing physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping patients regain movement and manage pain. This job is for treatment of pediatric patients and occasional adult outpatient orthopedic patients and the PTA must be comfortable treating both patient populations, especially pediatric patients with complex medical needs (spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, etc). This position would be in the Clarkston clinic with additional hours in Troy if wanted (but not required)
Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Assist patients with exercises and activities
- Monitor and report patient progress to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and their families on therapy procedures
- Maintain patient records accurately and be comfortable using EMR system
Requirements:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- State licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience in outpatient setting is preferred, PEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
- Familiarity with manual therapy is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - being sociable and knowledgeable IS A MUST!
- Ability to work evenings as needed and be flexible with hours and availability
