Installation Technician – Entry Level
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Location: Topeka, IN (In-person)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role
Move Over Outfitters, a veteran-owned company, is seeking a motivated Installation Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you’ll install and service technology systems in public safety and commercial vehicles, including two-way communication systems and in-car video equipment.
This is an entry-level position with training provided—we’re looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who are eager to learn and grow in a technical field.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure vehicle systems including radios, warning lights, and video equipment
- Prepare vehicles for installation and perform system upgrades and repairs
- Test and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Use tools and electrical testing equipment (such as ohmmeters)
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Collaborate with team members to complete installations efficiently
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work inside vehicles
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a background check
Preferred (not required):
- Experience with 12-volt systems, vehicle installs, or similar work
- EVT certification
