The Wastewater Manager is responsible for establishing the day-to-day management of personnel and implementation of water quality, laboratory programs, environmental stewardship, and environmental rules and regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. They will ensure wastewater permit compliance, manage and support the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor and oversee all activities. This role is listed for: First/Day Shift.
Duties/Activities Required by Job
- Provides direct management/supervision for operation of the Wastewater facility to achieve operational, regulatory and safety goals. Uses knowledge of current and emerging environmental issues and regulations impacting water resources and facility operations.
- Initiates and controls the overall environmental compliance program for water treatment system. This includes oversight of all required monitoring and reporting sample results required by federal, state and local regulations (EPA regulations)
- Maintenance of wastewater equipment, supervise cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Supervises workforce to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and laboratory procedures which may include accreditation/certification for specialized parameters
- Ensure policies and procedures for the general operation of the business unit's compliance programs. Work within safety guidelines at all times.
Educations/Experience Requirements
- High school
- 5 yrs. progressive environmental/wastewater/engineering experience.
- At least two years of supervision/management experience in environmental/wastewater industry.
- Wastewater license to operate the plant, strong knowledge of applicable compliance requirements and state and federal (EPA) regulations.
