Irrigation Operator

Seeking a reliable and experienced Irrigation Operator to support our hay harvesting and field operation on irrigated farmland.  The role involves operating tractors and maintaining surface and pivot irrigation systems, along with performing other general farm duties. Candidates must have prior experience in farm operations, be mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently in a physically demanding outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain irrigation systems, including pivots, risers, and valves.
• Operate tractors and other farm equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect equipment daily and perform routine maintenance.
• Identify and report mechanical issues to supervisors.
• Attach and adjust farm implements (e.g., plows, sprayers) using tools.
• Monitor machinery during operation and take corrective actions if needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. 
• Valid U.S Driver’s License.
• Previous experience in a similar role: irrigation operator, farm laborer, farm equipment operator, or agricultural worker.
• Working knowledge of agricultural equipment and irrigations systems.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) is preferred.
• Experience in plowing, planting, harvesting (combining), fertilizing, and recordkeeping.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull heavy objects.
• The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
• The ability to see objects or movement of objects to one's side when the eyes are looking ahead.
• The ability to coordinate the movement of your arms, legs, and torso together when the whole body is in motion.
• The ability to see under low light conditions.
