D shift (Week 1 - Fri/Sat/Sun 6:00p - 6:30a, Week 2 - Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun)


Role Impact:

As part of an aseptic, beverage manufacturing company, the Electrical Specialist will perform work requiring knowledge of electrical/electronic principles, wiring specifications and electrical codes. This position will be critical to creating an efficient, safe, and reliable operating condition of the site manufacturing control and electrical system.

In this role, the Electrical Specialist will provide support during machine installations and upgrades. In addition, this position will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair of all plant electrical systems, instrumentation, motor controls, PLC, HMI, data systems, and factory control infrastructure. The electrical specialist will maintain a clean, safe work area and perform all work in accordance with SOPs, GMP, Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines and local codes.


Role Responsibilities

  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, regulations and codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Provides support during machine installations and upgrades, including interfacing auxiliary equipment, identifying and correcting errors in programming and wiring and ensuring vendors and contractors are meeting our needs and expectations.
  • Analyze all types of circuits, wiring, diagrams, networks, and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify, replace or service all types of electrical devices and systems, including communication systems, electronic gauges, controls, power and distributed control equipment, measuring, recording, processing, and indicating devices.
  • Maintains and repairs electronic instrumentation and equipment to provide reliable, well-maintained equipment to ensure service quality.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and repair plant mechanical, instrumentation, control, and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and program automated facility control equipment, calibrate required safety devices.
  • Calibrates pressure gauges, meter measurement equipment, and other equipment that requires calibration.
  • Reads and interprets planning documents, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, drawings, manuals, blueprints, engineering sketches and P&ID drawings.
  • Perform layout and wiring of electrical panels.
  • Write and perform maintenance work orders as required.
  • Work closely with the engineering, quality, and operation team to complete a variety of activities, including but not limited to developing user instructions and job aids, implementing process changes, root cause evaluation, corrective actions, qualifications, tests, and other department projects.
  • Perform Preventive, Predictive, and Proactive Maintenance inspection of assigned equipment, report findings and take appropriate action.
  • Assist with repairs and projects.
  • Perform duties such as dismantling, moving, installing, or repairing manufacturing equipment.
  • Physically sets up and maintains electronics, instruments, automation, and measurement equipment.
  • Responsible for assisting other technicians with maintenance and repair duties, including training co-workers on the safe and efficient techniques to maintain electrical system operations and equipment.
  • Advise operators and maintenance personnel of standard operating procedures and requirements for electronic and electrical equipment and controls.
  • Ensure electrical systems are locked out and deenergized properly prior to performing work.
  • Ensure lines are not pressure-charged prior to performing work.
  • Know, understand, and follow OSHA and Safety Regulations.
  • Follow Food Safety Requirement/Standards as needed.

Education

  • A two-year technical degree or equivalent is required.
  • WV Journeyman Certification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance and repair of systems, control process, and equipment such as control valves, pressure/flow measuring devices.
  • Electrical manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and food/beverage experience is highly preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Demonstrate understanding of GMP facilities, mechanical/electrical systems, and associated controls.
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of valves (pneumatic and fluid), pumps (pneumatic and fluid), motors, gearboxes, servos, and filter units.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand power tools.
  • Strong Knowledge of 120-, 240-, and 480-Volt Systems.
  • Strong Knowledge of low-voltage systems
  • Strong knowledge of AC and DC power signals
  • Hydraulic Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and I/O communication signal/data exchange
  • Experience with gearboxes and servo motor operation, and knowledge of programming and/or uploading programming.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb up and down ladders, and work in tight spaces
  • Ability to use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb constantly throughout the shift
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, rotate, push, and pull frequently
  • Must be able to work with equipment that contains electric magnetic components.
