Under the general supervision of the VP of Credit Administration, performs credit analysis for new loan requests and oversees and administers existing portfolio; including, but not limited to, preparation of annual reviews and loan modifications, as well as, tracking financial information. Maintain compliance with all related Bank policies, standardized procedures and regulations. Below is a description of the ordinary duties of the position. Essential Duties:
- Performs a variety of administrative duties to support the commercial lending function of which the following are illustrative:
- Effectively and accurately complete credit underwriting for Commercial Loan Requests with a moderate to high level of complexity including, but not limited to, Commercial Mortgages, Commercial Construction Loans, Commercial and Industrial Loans as well as Working Capital Revolving Lines of Credit.
- Complete new loan underwriting, loan renewals / modifications, annual credit reviews, with a moderate level of independence while meeting assigned deadlines.
- Responsible for delineating the strengths and weaknesses of proposed transactions with the appropriate mitigating factors; and, is responsible for making recommendations on the loan packages to the appropriate approval signatories along with an appropriate Risk Rating analysis.
- Request financial information on existing Borrowers which includes, but is not limited, to accountant prepared financials, both business and personal tax returns, personal financial statements, agency reports, etc.
- Prepare financial statement spreadsheets to facilitate the analysis of corporate financial statements and tax returns, personal financial statements and tax returns, etc.
- Review related financial information e.g. credit reports, leases, appraisals and property reports for new loan requests, loan renewals, loan extensions and annual credit reviews.
- Analyze financial statements, management of profiles, business / product cycles, historical operating performance and cash flow for the purpose of assessing risk.
- Perform necessary research on Prospect or Borrower using tools available e.g. internet, RMA data, CoStar. D&B Hoovers.
- Assist the Commercial Relationship Managers in the preparation of the Loan Presentation Summaries to be presented to the Commercial Lender, the Credit Committee and/or Board of Directors for approval.
- Participates in structuring and executing transactions and may assist in the preparation of the supporting documentation.
- Provides ongoing credit administration of commercial loan portfolio.
- Complete comprehensive reviews of Commercial and Residential Appraisal Reports on transactions to ensure the Bank users are in compliance with all related appraisal regulations and the Bank's internal Appraisal Policy.
- Prepares various quarterly Credit Administration reports and can effectively communicates the results to management and the Credit Committee, if needed.
- Responsible for the oversight of various functions within the Credit Administration department including, but not limited to, the appraisal bidding and ordering process, vendor management, etc.
- Accompany Commercial Lenders on business calls with Prospects or Borrowers at both the Bank and Borrower's place of business.
- Ensures that all credit analysis activities are conducted in accordance with Commercial Loan policy.
- Maintains electronic and physical credit file information in accordance with the Bank's practices and procedures, as required by the commercial loan policy and as specified within the loan presentation summary (i.e. monitors loan covenant compliance, financial statement receipt and review, calculate appropriate financial ratios and annual review of loan portfolio).
- May be a key contact for existing and proposed relationships; however, typically a secondary contact. May act as the liaison between existing Borrowers and Commercial Lenders.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all the Bank's commercial products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs.
- Participate in department or division sales meetings and administrative meetings.
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments within the Bank in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
- Completes in a timely manner all training assignments required by the Bank.
- Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the Bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
- Achieves goals assigned to the Credit Analyst II.
- Provides leadership, on-the-job training, and technical guidance to Credit Analyst I(s).
- Reports pertinent information to their immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
- Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular areas, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
- May have interactions with management, clients and vendors.
