Substitute Automation Technology Instructor
Location: Lehi, UT
Status: Part-time
Hours: Monday–Friday; 7:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., as needed
Pay/Salary: $26.49 /Hour
Summary
Guided by the Director of Programs and Program Coordinator, the Substitute Automated Technology Instructor plays a vital role in preparing students for successful careers in advanced manufacturing. This position delivers engaging instruction, assesses student progress, and continuously improves course materials and lab competencies to align with industry standards. The substitute instructor serves as a role model for professionalism in both classroom and lab settings, maintains relevant certifications, and actively contributes to program development and student success. Travel between campuses might be needed.

What You'll Do:
Responsibilities of the Substitute Automation Technology Instructor include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering effective instruction and supporting student learning within the program.
- Reviewing and executing lesson plans.
- Actively engaging students throughout the entire scheduled class period.
- Providing clear guidance to help students grasp the lesson material.
- Maintaining classroom discipline and ensuring a productive learning environment.
- Accurately recording student attendance.
- Creating and maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For:
- Education Requirements: A high school diploma or its equivalent is required. A Two-Year certificate or associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- Experience: At least three years of hands-on experience in manufacturing before joining the position.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and circuits.
- Professional Development: Commitment to continuous learning and ongoing professional development in manufacturing and/or education.
- Teaching Experience: Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
