Mountainburg Public Schools is seeking applicants for a High School Paraprofessional to support students through our in-school suspension program, on-campus ALE support services, and virtual learning program. Join the Dragon Team to work in a collaborative role within our professional learning community as we ensure high levels of learning, support, and success for all students.
The successful candidate will build positive relationships with students while providing supervision, academic support, progress monitoring, and communication to help students remain engaged and successful in their educational setting.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and support students assigned to in-school suspension (ISS) in a structured and positive learning environment
- Monitor and assist on-campus ALE students with coursework, assignments, and academic progress
- Facilitate student success within the district’s virtual learning program through organization, accountability, and progress monitoring
- Communicate regularly with students, families, teachers, counselors, and administration regarding student progress, attendance, concerns, and support needs
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, behavior, coursework completion, and student progress
- Assist students with credit recovery coursework and provide encouragement and accountability for academic success
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administration, and the district virtual director to address student needs and concerns
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
- Support student behavioral expectations and reinforce school procedures and policies
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications
Applicants must meet Arkansas paraprofessional requirements by one of the following:
- Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 semester credit hours at a regionally accredited institution), OR
- Obtaining an associate’s degree or higher, OR
- Presenting a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment
Requirements: Appropriate level license/endorsements and successful completion of all background checks.
Position Details
- Full-Time Position
- 181 day contract
- 7.5 hour daily contract
