What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Mountain West Painting?
Experienced Professional Painter
Mountain West Painting is hiring experienced painters to join our growing team in the Boise/Meridian area.
We’re looking for professional painters who take pride in their work, show up on time, work efficiently, and care about delivering a quality finished product.
This is not an entry-level painting position. We’re looking for painters who already have solid experience and are comfortable handling the day-to-day responsibilities of professional residential and light commercial painting.
What We’re Looking For
An ideal candidate is experienced with:
- Interior and exterior painting
- Brushing and rolling
- Proper masking and protection of surrounding surfaces
- Surface preparation

- Painting walls, ceilings, trim, doors, siding, and other common surfaces
- Cutting clean lines
- Touch-ups and identifying imperfections before a job is considered complete
- Working efficiently while maintaining a high-quality finish
- Safely working from ladders and extension ladders
Spraying experience is a plus, but it is not required. We care more about finding someone who understands proper prep, masking, brushing, rolling, and what a professional finished product should look like.

- Has a positive attitude and is easy to work with
- Is honest, dependable, and respectful of customers and their homes
- Can work independently when needed and also work well as part of a crew
Tools & Equipment
Mountain West Painting can provide sprayers and ladders, so owning these items is not required.
However, additional compensation may be available for painters who have their own professional tools and equipment and/or a vehicle capable of transporting ladders and extension ladders.
Painters with spraying experience and their own sprayer are also encouraged to apply.
What We Value
Skill matters, but so does character.
We want people who care about doing things correctly, take responsibility for their work, and don’t need someone constantly looking over their shoulder. Our goal is to build a crew of dependable professionals who enjoy working together and producing work we’re proud to put the Mountain West Painting name on.
If you’re an experienced painter looking for consistent work with a growing local painting company, we’d like to hear from you.
