Elementary Music Teacher

A free public charter school in South Jordan, Utah, is now accepting applications for a **Part-Time Elementary Music Teacher**. We are seeking a joyful, skilled, and organized music teacher to join our vibrant community. We are looking for a musician-educator who is dedicated to helping students gain the necessary skills to understand, perform, and create music.

**Position Overview**

The Elementary Music Teacher will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. This is a part-time position (15 -- 20 hours per week), following the school calendar.

**Responsibilities**

• Plan and deliver weekly music instruction for K--6 students
• Teach foundational musical concepts including rhythm, solfedge, pitch, notation, movement, composition, and listening skills
• Incorporate singing, instruments, creative expression, and performance opportunities
• Prepare students for at least one school performance or concert per year
• Create a classroom environment that reflects Montessori principles: respect, independence, order, and beauty
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration
• Maintain music materials and equipment
• Communicate positively and professionally with families
  
  

**Qualifications**

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
• Utah teaching license (or ability to obtain one) preferred
• Experience teaching elementary-aged students
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction
• Experience with using Kodaly and/or Orff pedagogy strongly preferred
