Position Description: Summary: The Government Insuring Specialist is responsible for managing the post-closing insuring process for FHA and VA loans to ensure theyre timely and accurately insured. Primary functions include submitting and tracking mortgage insurance applications, processing payments, resolving case number issues, validating closing documents for compliance, researching and resolving rejected binders or certificates, monitoring the loan pipeline and maintaining accurate records for audits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Submit and track mortgage insurance applications for FHA and VA loans, ensuring compliance with Arrive Homes quality standards.
o Process Upfront Mortgage Insurance Premium (UFMIP) and VA Funding Fee (VAFF) payments, with accurate submissions to HUD and VA.
o Reconcile and resolve case number warnings, errors, or corrections in FHA Connection and VA WebLGY systems.
o Validate final closing documents to ensure adherence to FHA and VA insuring requirements.
o Research and resolve rejected case binders or insurance certificates to maintain loan pipeline efficiency.
o Monitor loan pipeline, proactively follow up on missing documentation, and coordinate with Arrive Homes internal teams and external partners.
o Maintain meticulous records to support audits, HUD/LRS reviews, and agency reporting requirements.
o Stay up to date on FHA and VA guideline changes to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
o Prepare and manage mortgage document binders.
o Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Skills/Qualifications
o 2 years of experience in a government insuring position.
o 3 years of mortgage experience, preferably as a processor, closer or in post-closing.
o Proficiency with FHA Connection and VA WebLGY.
o Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
o Robust problem-solving and research abilities to address discrepancies and ensure compliance.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
o Team-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality standards.
Education/Experience
o High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree strongly preferred
Computer Skills
o 2 year of experience working in FHA Connection and/or VA WebLGY.
o Highly skilled working on a computer using multiple programs/websites at one time.
o Fluent in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use additional software programs.
