Veterinary Technician Position Summary:
Mountain View Veterinary Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team in Pocatello, ID. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care for our patients and clients while supporting the day-to-day operations of our clinic. Certification is preferred but not required; however, previous experience is essential. Our ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking abilities, a commitment to animal welfare, and excellent communication skills.
Clinic: Mountain View Veterinary Hospital - A progressive, small animal clinic providing high-quality care with compassion and expertise in Pocatello, ID.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, providing safe and gentle restraint for patients.
- Perform phlebotomies, collect and analyze blood and urine samples, and place IV catheters.
- Take radiographs, including dental radiographs, and perform dental prophylaxis procedures.
- Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, answering questions and providing updates on patient care.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the clinic, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and clients.
- Participate in front desk duties as needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and filing.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to provide seamless and compassionate care for all patients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician is essential.
- Strong multitasking abilities, able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients and coworkers.
- Compassionate and dedicated to the well-being of animals.
- Available to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
