Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines such as lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts and components. Duties
- Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other related equipment such as Fanuc controls to produce complex parts with precision.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate machining.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and perform necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, height gauges, and laser measurement tools to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
- Assist with assembly tasks when required and operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, or other machinery as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages like G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings to interpret complex specifications accurately.
- Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like Mastercam or general CAD tools for part design review.
- Ability to use precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions.
- Knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, and machining best practices aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
