Infection Preventionist (IP) Nurse

Mountain View Post-Acute is looking for a full-time Infection Prevention (IP) Nurse. Pay rate is starts $36/hr. and up, depending on experience and qualifications! Must be IP Certified.

Duties:

• Preventing the transmission of infectious agents and identification of infectious disease processes.
• The IP will assist with implementation of infection prevention and control strategies related to controlling the transmission of infectious agents.
• The IP identifies problems of surveillance findings, develops plan of approach and communicates plan appropriately to the Director of Nursing Services.
• The IP will collect data in support of epidemiological studies of specific problems or problem areas to determine the source of the problem and make appropriate recommendations.
• The IP utilizes appropriate Quality Assurance monitoring activities to address issues of potential risk of infection for patients or employees.
• The IP documents problems and implements control measures in performance improvement projects.
• The IP will assist the Director of Staff Development with the planning, organizing, development and implementation of educational programs for employees.

Requirements:

• Highly prefer the IP has a minimum of two years’ experience as an IP nurse in healthcare setting, SNF or Sub Acute.
• The IP must be qualified by education, training, clinical or health care experience, or certification, and must have completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.
• Active and Valid LVN License in California (Required)
• IP Certificiation
