What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aftercare Teacher position at Mountain View Montessori?
The Aftercare Teacher will be responsible for co-leading a group of up to 12 students aged 2-6 years in the afternoon program. They will be responsible for the following:
-upholding the philosophy, policies and procedures of Mountain View Montessori
-Maintaining a kind, professional and positive attitude
-Supervising up to 12 students in aftercare activities
-Building rapport with staff and parents while ensuring smooth communication
-Independently planning and implementing an afterschool program curriculum
-Preparing in advance the needed materials and supplies for activities
-Keeping the learning environment clean, neat and in order
-Changing out work on shelves monthly
-Treating each child and co-worker with dignity and respect
-Preparing snack on occasion
-Helping with the general housekeeping tasks of the classroom: dusting, sweeping, refilling supplies, proper storage of all classroom supplies and cabinet organization
-Closing duties which include cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, wiping shelves and other items on the closing checklist
-Be creative and have fun with activities!
-Schedule is set at Monday-Friday 2pm-6pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
