Adult School-Independent Study English/Social Studies Teacher

Independent Study High School Teacher – English Qualifications: Valid California Single Subject English credential and CLAD required (no sub credentials) English teaching experience required Effective communicator verbal and written Strong technology skills for online instruction and recordkeeping Experience working in alternative or adult school setting highly preferred   Position: English instruction at all high school grade levels for all English courses in alignment with 9-12 curriculum and state standards.  Teaching delivery includes:  one to one independent study, one to one independent study plus online instruction (hybrid), and supervision of online instruction.  Includes participation in staff meetings and trainings for professional development and teacher team approach.  Accurate and timely student recordkeeping.  Effective communication skills through one on one meetings with students, staff and parents; verbally and by email.  Must be able to work with ease on the computer for instructional and communication purposes. 10-15 hours/week Both daytime and evening teaching hours Adult School setting January 3-June 10, 2011
