Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Prior Authorization Specialist to join our Team!
JOB SUMMARY: The Prior Authorization Specialist will obtain prior authorizations for diagnostic imaging, cardiac imaging, Veterans Administration authorizations, and referral authorizations for some specialist appointments. This position will secure the prior authorization and notify the rendering party in a timely manner, so our patients receive the services needed without delay.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: Minimum of two years healthcare experience in medical billing, medical prior authorizations, or health insurance. Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding. Experience handling VA authorizations.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as patient statements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Equipment/Technology: Ability to use an EMR system and operate basic computer functions and software.
Mental Capabilities: : Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others
