Job Summary
The Social Services Crisis Coordinator provides clinically and culturally competent guidance and teaches skills to individuals, couples, families, and groups who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. Provision of emergency crisis evaluations throughout the hospital. Documentation of clinical work is accurate and completed on the same date as service. This individual seeks to improve upon clinical competencies through regular supervision, consultation, and continuing education. Assists patients and their families with personal and environmental difficulties which predispose illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care by performing the following duties. Prepare patients and family for discharge from acute care hospital setting. The psychotherapist may also perform other duties in the facility as deemed necessary by MVH management.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Completion of Bachelors or Masters in Social Work. LCSW preferred. Must have current BLS.
Experience: Minimum of one year clinical experience in providing direct social services in individual, couples, family, and group modalities.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Is able to perform treatments and provide services and education to the level of licensure.
- Maintains patient & employee confidentiality at all times.
- Serve as a clinical resource with patients experiencing mental health crises.
- Complete clinical documentation of the patient on the date of service in the electronic health record.
- Provides provider support in complex cases.
- Treats Patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Assists in placing patients in facilities for inpatient care, working with proper officials for “hold” patients, or Designated Examiners for patients going to State Hospitals for treatment. This includes not just the clinical work but appropriate, accurate and timely sharing of information.
