Mountain View Hospital is looking for an Outpatient Therapy Office Staff Specialist Lead to join our Rexburg team!
JOB SUMMARY: Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of patients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interview incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer. Audits medial records and charges for accuracy and assists business office for timely and accurate billings. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Assists with coordinating schedules and training. Must maintain a 95% accuracy rate on all admissions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patient Registration, Scheduling, and Intake
1. Coordinate patient scheduling for therapy services in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Pre-register patients by obtaining and verifying demographic, emergency contact, and insurance information; complete patient discharge activities as needed.
3. Receive referrals, obtain complete and accurate physician orders, and ensure all required documentation is received before services are scheduled.
4. Manage therapist schedules, monitor appointment availability, maintain waitlists, and communicate scheduling updates and openings to patients and families.
5. Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing inquiries as appropriate.

Complete and check all new patient records files for information that is required and accuracy.
7. Maintain patient safety within reception and waiting areas. Insurance Verification, Authorization, and Billing Support
8. Assist with insurance eligibility and benefits for Medicaid, commercial, and private payers; document changes accurately within Cerner.
9. Assist with obtaining and track prior authorizations, ensuring approvals are secured before services are rendered and maintaining accurate authorization records.
10. Assist with billing-related functions, including occurrence codes, KX modifiers, G-codes, and other payer requirements.
11. Collect and document co-payments and other patient
Additional Lead Duties:
1. Assists with training and competency check offs.
2. Coordinate schedules and approves designated timecards

Qualifications:Education/Certification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information system, and operate computer functions and software.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Mental Capabilities: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others.
