Join Our Team

Mountain View Health & Rehabilitation is looking for a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents by helping them regain strength, mobility, independence, and confidence.

At Mountain View, we believe great care starts with great people. Our therapy team works closely with nursing, providers, residents, and families to create individualized treatment plans focused on helping each resident achieve their highest practical level of function. We are looking for a PTA who enjoys building relationships with residents, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and seeing the direct impact of their work.

Whether you're an experienced PTA or looking to grow your career in skilled nursing and rehabilitation, we'd love to talk with you about joining Mountain View.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA assists residents in achieving their individualized rehabilitation goals through therapeutic exercise, mobility and gait training, transfer training, balance activities, strengthening, and other interventions established in the resident's plan of care.

The PTA works as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team to promote resident safety, independence, functional improvement, and quality of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatments in accordance with the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist.
  • Assist residents with therapeutic exercises designed to improve strength, endurance, balance, coordination, mobility, and overall function.
  • Provide gait, transfer, wheelchair, and mobility training as appropriate.
  • Educate residents, families, caregivers, and facility staff regarding safe mobility techniques, exercises, positioning, and other therapy recommendations.
  • Observe and document resident responses to treatment and communicate changes in condition or progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility, payer, state, and federal requirements.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, nursing, providers, CNAs, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in care planning and discharge planning as appropriate.
  • Assist with recommendations for adaptive equipment, assistive devices, positioning, and environmental modifications.
  • Follow established infection prevention, safety, resident-rights, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Promote resident dignity, choice, independence, and quality of life during all interactions.
  • Maintain equipment and treatment areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Participate in facility quality improvement, education, and interdisciplinary initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the PTA's education, competency, licensure, and scope of practice.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant education program.
  • Current or eligible Montana Physical Therapist Assistant license.
  • Ability to practice under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with Montana requirements.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain certification as required by the facility.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Skilled nursing, long-term care, geriatric, or rehabilitation experience is preferred but not required.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is more than technically skilled. The ideal PTA is dependable, positive, compassionate, and genuinely enjoys working with older adults. You should be comfortable working independently while maintaining close communication with the supervising Physical Therapist and the rest of the clinical team.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to be part of a team that takes pride in helping residents get stronger, become more independent, and return to the activities that matter to them.

Come join Mountain View Health & Rehabilitation and help us make a difference—one resident at a time.
