Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Salesperson specializing in fencing and decks to join our team. In this role, you will drive business growth by engaging with customers, developing new client relationships, and managing both company provided leads and your own generated leads. Your enthusiasm for outdoor living solutions combined with your strong sales skills will help customers transform their outdoor spaces while contributing to our company’s success. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about sales, management, and business development within the home improvement industry.
Duties
- Engage in outside sales activities by visiting potential clients and providing estimates for fencing, decking, and patio cover solutions.
- Develop new business opportunities through lead generation, cold calling, and neighborhood engagement (i.e. door-knocking in the immediate area where we are building a deck or fence).
- Attending local meetings (such as the Chamber of Commerce or Rotary clubs, etc.) to generate company brand awareness.
- Work with both ownership and administration to manage lead generation and support.
- Engage with past customers to obtain referrals or new work.
- Conduct product presentations and technical sales consultations to showcase features and benefits of fencing and decking options.
- Utilize CRM software (currently JobNimbus) to track leads, manage customer interactions, and analyze sales data for strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of fencing and deck products and estimating is a must-have.
- Proven experience in outside sales, B2B sales, or retail sales with a focus on home improvement or outdoor living products
- Strong management skills with the ability to communicate to both customers and our field personnel to ensure quality work is being completed to expectations set.
- Familiarity with CRM software for lead tracking and customer relationship management
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills to build lasting client relationships
- Ability to conduct product demos and technical sales presentations confidently
- Experience in cold calling, lead generation, and direct sales strategies to expand local market reach
- Analysis skills to assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape for strategic decision-making
- A proactive attitude with a passion for business development, management, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
Expectations & Compensation
- We have a comprehensive commission structure and bonus program. 6% of gross on Residential, 4% on Commercial, along with bonus thresholds on a monthly basis. Commissions are uncapped - sky is the limit!
- Your first 60 days compensation can be negotiated (i.e. draws against commission), but will be at least above the minimum wage threshold.
- We are looking for a hungry and results-driven salesperson - you'll be expected to generate 60% of your own leads and 40% provided by the company.
- You must have your own cell phone that the company will provide a stipend for, as well as provide you with a company Google Voice phone number to keep separate from your personal line.
- Reliable transportation to our office/warehouse where you'll be provided with a company vehicle to perform your job duties on a daily basis.
- You'll be provided with your own website landing page and QR-code for lead tracking.
