What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional-Intervention SY25/26 position at Mountain View Elementary?
SUMMARY: Under basic supervision, applies assessment scores to identify and further individual student’s skill and ability in reading, writing, vocabulary, comprehension, and reasoning through targeted intervention.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assists in the design, development, and implementation of lesson plans modeled by certified teacher.
- Plans and prepares instructional materials. Provides group instructional support.
- Assists with maintaining student records and other related reports.
- Provides assistance to students, parents, and staff including but not limited to language translation, test preparation, and classroom assistance.
- Administers state and District assessments and progress monitoring as directed by certified teacher
- Responsible for compiling, entering data and distributing related reports to assists with creation of Targeted Assistance Students (TAS) lists.
- Assists with inventory of classroom materials and resources.
- Participates in evaluating student progress.
- Assists with all other testing, including preparation and completion, as needed.
- Assists with parent activities.
- Completes other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; AND Associate degree, 60 units of post-secondary coursework or passing score on a paraprofessional assessment; AND working experience with science materials or teaching; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- DIBELS Certification.
Required Knowledge of:
- Stages of childhood development.
- District, School Board, and Department policies and procedures.
- Creative principles, practices, and methods of teaching.
- Educational materials and resources.
Required Skills in:
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely.
- Managing classroom activities. Supervising and instructing students.
- Developing and implementing lesson plans.
- Practicing methods involved in providing quality customer service.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard classroom environment.
- Required to assist young children.
- Must be able to lift/carry/move 50 lbs.
