Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt Funeral Home is currently accepting resumes for a Removal Technician/Funeral Directors assistant. This is a on call position, with no guarantee of minimum hours.Removal Technicians/Funeral Director assistants are responsible for the care, removal, and transportation of deceased, assisting the directors with services, running errands, some office work, and answering phones. We are offering $100.00 per removal, plus $50.00 per 24 hour on call shift. Job Requirements: Must be available most nights and weekends, with a strong preference for open availability at all times of the day. Our schedules are planned two month in advance.Must be available on short notice. Deaths occur at all hours and as such you must have the ability to be at the funeral home within 20 minutes of being called.Must be comfortable with handling the deceased. This may involve bodily fluids and potentially hazardous diseases. All necessary personal protective equipment is provided.Able to lift 100 pounds, and push/pull up to 250lbs.Must be able to interact professionally and compassionately with individuals in high stress and emotional situations. Must be willing and able to dress professionally and not have excessive visible tattoos or piercings.Safely operate all company vehicles. Must not be under the influence of any substance/alcohol while on call. As referenced above we are often given very little notice of when someone is in need of our services.Follow all internal company policies and procedures including chain of custody and logging of personal effects.Education• High School Diploma or equivalent Licenses• Current valid driver license. Must be able to be placed on company insurance which requires no more than two moving violations in a 3-year period, no DUI or reckless driving violations within the last 7 years, and be at least 21 years of age.
