We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Restorative Aide to join our team. The Restorative Aide plays a vital role in assisting residents with their restorative care plans, helping them achieve and maintain their highest level of physical functioning, independence, and quality of life. - Resident Care:
- Assist residents with restorative care plans, including range-of motion exercises, ambulation, and activities to promote independence.
- Implement restorative programs designed by therapists, nurses, or other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and document residents' progress and report any changes to the nursing or therapy teams.
- Assist residents with restorative nursing programs designed by therapy or nursing
- Help residents with:
- Walking/ambulation programs
- Range of motion exercises
- Transfers and mobility
- Splint or brace application
- Positioning and turning
- Dining/self-feeding programs
- Toileting programs
- Document resident progress and participation accurately
- Report changes in resident condition to licensed nursing staff
- Encourage residents to maintain independence with ADLs
- Work closely with therapy, nursing, and care teams
- Ensure resident safety during restorative activities
- Maintain a positive and supportive environment
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with nursing staff, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
- Participate in care plan meetings and provide input on residents' progress and restorative needs.
- Documentation:
- Accurately record restorative interventions and outcomes in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with documentation requirements to support billing and care standards.
- Resident Advocacy:
- Encourage and motivate residents to actively participate in their restorative care programs.
- Ensure residents’ dignity, comfort, and safety during all restorative activities.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state.
- Completion of a restorative aide training program preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a restorative aide or CNA in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and supporting residents during restorative activities.
- Frequent standing, walking, and physical activity to assist residents.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- May involve exposure to infectious diseases or hazardous materials, following appropriate safety protocols.
